Il valore del non costruito/The value of the unbuilt
Cosa? Non lo saprai mai.
An “unbuilt project” is a drawing, an image. Two-dimensional because it only has two dimensions, those given by the size of the paper or the size of the computer screen.
It is a vortex of intuitions, of lines that intersect each other in an un-accidental way. It is a frenzy of forms, of fills and voids that fluctuate, on the paper or in the architect’s mind, perfectly tuning.
A cloud of correct solutions, which respect the requests, the context and the local traditions, so precisely selected to be destined, and, to be welcomed by everyone with a certain clamor.
Unbuilt.
Such a judgement, such a verdict is the unbuilt. Such an unfair result for such a fair project is the unbuilt. Something in the perfect designing mechanism must have stopped its debut in the built environment.
What? You’ll never know.
